11 HL: The Conjugate Root Theorem

Complete the question below before our next class.

Given that \(1+3i\) is a root of \(x^3 – 3x^2 + 12x-10=0\), find all other roots.

Hint
Note that \(1-3i\) will also be a root, and so \((x-(1+3i))(x-(1-3i))\) will divide the polynomial \(x^3 – 3x^2 + 12x-10\).

11 SL: The Binomial Theorem (continued)

Complete the following questions before our next class. (Of course, if you really want to check your understanding, try some of the harder questions that haven’t yet been assigned!)

Exercise 1C questions 1b, 6a, 7a

11 Math SL 2: Financial Mathematics

Finish all previously assigned questions, as well as the questions listed below (some of this may require you to read through the relevant sections of the textbook). Our next class is on

Exercise 5E.1 questions 1, 5, 6, 9
Exercise 5E.2 question 1
Exercise 5E.3 question 2
Exercise 5E.4 question 2
